News – PLANCKS Hong Kong Preliminary 2026 Winner
HE Qirui, LI Yiwei, HUA Yongxin and LI Sze Tung won the PLANCKS Hong Kong Preliminary
A team of four undergraduate students – Miss HE Qirui, Miss LI Yiwei, Mr. HUA Yongxin and Mr. LI Sze Tung – won the PLANCKS Hong Kong Preliminary and were subsequently selected to represent Hong Kong at the PLANCKS 2026 Final in Eindhoven, the Netherlands. Their participation was made possible through the generous support of the Physics Department.
The Final brought together 54 elite teams from around the world. Following a series of rigorous and intellectually demanding challenges, the team achieved an impressive 17th place globally and emerged as the highest-ranked team from Hong Kong.
The competition was both challenging and rewarding for the team, providing invaluable opportunities for academic exchange with fellow physics enthusiasts from diverse cultural and institutional backgrounds. We are proud of the team’s outstanding achievement and their role in showcasing Hong Kong’s talent and excellence on the international stage.
